back from USA

I got home via Madison (where I'd apparently missed a life-changing David Byrne show), Chicago O'Hare (listening to DJ Stashu on WFMU), Reykjavic Airport (drinking overpriced water, looking out at rain and runways — my first impression of Iceland — listening to some '94 Dead...can't quite recall why).
 

Back in Canterbury late on Tuesday 22nd May. The next evening I was at Bramleys to catch some of Sam Brothers' set after a game of Go with the Go crew at their weekly session at Chocolate Cafe: a couple of his originals, "The Way Young Lovers Do", "Blackwaterside", "Hold On" (the classic gospel song, done a cappella) and a stunning version of Sam Cooke's "Bring It On Home to Me". Jetlaaaaged!
