The Selkies + Sadler & Shepherd

secret woodland location near Canterbury
10th June 2018

Folkie tunes from Aidan Shepherd (Arlet's accordionist/composer) and Chris Sadler (local accordion and concertina folk-session stalwart), then immersive loveliness from The Selkies. Flo and Nou handed out various bells and shakers at one point and the audience became part of the band (very much like what the Incredible String Band did back in their heyday). Absolutely lovely. A few people even stayed on til midnight so they could sing me "Happy Birthday". Aww.

Canterbury hinterlands walk with Luke D the next day, getting happily lost around the Westbere Lakes (where the "Boot Lagoon" can be found, the origin of the local prog band's name, their favourite place to hang out and get high as youth) and then again at twilight in the Scotland Hills (on the edge of the golf course where Richard Sinclair wrote "Golf Girl").
