Sunrise Mass in Faversham

St. Mary's Church, Faversham
8th June 2018

The UKC's Cecilian Choir includes my friend Livi — we share a love of Byrd, Dowland, Gibbons and Tallis, and so she let me know that this was happening. It was part of UKC's Summer Music Week, featuring Ola Gjeilo's "Sunrise Mass". I'd wanted to hear the Choir as well as see the inside of this church for a while now, so Dave and I got the train over. Both the singing and the church interior were upliftingly beautiful, really worth the trip! We managed to meet up with old friends Tracy and Nick for a drink at The Anchor afterwards.

I saw Livi again at a Psychedelic Society barbecue the next evening. I took my saz, but there wasn't much jamming...people getting drunk seemed to be the (rather unpsychedelic) focus, but at Lucas' urging, Cameron and I played a bit (me noodling over some of his chord sequences).
