Marching forth with the Once And Future Band at Ramsgate Music Hall

Lift from Canterbury with Adam, Neil and a Lithuanian student called Gabrielle. Support from Harry Hayes' and friends' band Dreamweaver (less indie, more proggish somehow, some nice sounds). OAFB were pure psych-prog awesomeness, the crowd loved it...ridiculous banter...insane angular guitar solo from mystery guitarist (what style!)... They casually started the set sort of blurring out of the music that happened to be playing out of the PA when they were ready — the keyboardist doodling along with Steely Dan's "Reelin' In The Years". Hannah and I concurred that all four members looked like they should be in different bands (the bass player in a Sonic Youth-type outfit, the drummer in a stoner rock band, the keyboardist in a West Coast jamband and the guitarist in a slick funk band) — this made for quite a comic onstage presence. All four Magills in the audience, Liam just back from California. Learned that Raven is now father of baby Juno.
