Dub Magnitude were a short-lived spin-off of Children of the Drone, the improv collective in Exeter which I've been part of since its inception in 2001, dedicated to playing live improvised dub. I was only around for one gig at The Globe Inn (February 2007). We worked with a set of pre-selected basslines, in this case the one from Junior Murvin's "Police and Thieves" (although you probably wouldn't guess that). Ivan on drums, Mick on bass, Ali on violin, Keith on guitar, Simon on laptop, John on various instruments, me on saz.

This was the first time any of us except Mick had played music with Ali. She'd been part of folk band The Barely Works before ending up in Exeter.
