I've recently come across this remarkable Israeli-born American MC called 'Invincible'. After moving to Detroit, she learned English by writing down other people's rhymes (so she effectively 'learned to speak hip hop' - and it shows), turned down a major record deal to set up her own independent fair-trade label and clearly isn't afraid to speak her mind:
